Three things every child needs to hear

When a family leaves violence behind, children often have big questions and no words for them. This book gives you a place to start.

It isn't your fault

Children often think they caused a parent to leave. The story tells them, simply and clearly, that they didn't.

You are loved

Even when a parent is gone, the people who stay love them, and that love doesn't change.

You are safe

Written to reassure, without frightening details. It's suitable for reading together at bedtime. Zoe: confirm

Page from the book: a mum lifts her laughing son outside their home. The words read: I live in my house with my mummy. It's a happiness house. My mummy is funny. Page from the book: a mum and her child walk a path through green fields towards the sunrise. Page from the book: a big smiling heart surrounded by little children. The words read: As I know that they love me and for that I am glad.

Why I wrote it

From one mum to another

I wrote Where's My Daddy? from my own family's experience, when I couldn't find the right words to explain why Daddy wasn't there. I wanted my child to know it wasn't their fault, and that they were loved and safe.

The book also includes a bonus poem for parents.
